While many clients wrongly believe that once they sign their wills or maybe a trust they are set for life, just as their lives change their estate plans should also change. Children, marriages, divorces, births, deaths, wealth changes, retirements, disabilities, business and employment changes, and new charities are all life events that may require revising your estate plan. Additionally, changes in the law and tax applications that your attorney or accountant are aware of could also require your estate plan to be updated. Take note of your life changes and contact your attorney to see if revisions to your estate plan are called for.
